Columbia Gas Makes 2023 Kentucky Best Places to Work Roster – Again
Columbia Gas of Kentucky has been named among the 2023 Best Places to Work by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM). This marks the fifth time – and the fourth consecutive year – the company has been named to the annual listing.
A subsidiary of NiSource, Columbia Gas was one of 25 companies to place in the large-sized category for companies with 500 or more employees. Columbia Gas and the other standout companies on the list was featured in the June issue of Best Places to Work Magazine and was honored at an awards ceremony on June 8.
To be considered, Columbia Gas submitted a lengthy application that probed the company’s training methods, hiring practices, safety standards, employee engagement activities and more to qualify for the next round, which included a survey of employees in January.
“This recognition is largely based on favorable ratings from our employees, and we are both humbled and grateful for their vote of confidence in our company,” said Columbia Gas President and COO Kimra Cole. “We are immensely proud of our team. Their hard work and commitment to provide safe and reliable service to our customers is what makes Columbia Gas one of the best places to work in Kentucky.”
Now in its 19th year, the Best Places to Work in Kentucky program has recognized more than 300 unique Kentucky companies. Columbia Gas previously made the list in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
