Customer Choice Program

If you like to shop and compare for the best price, the Customer Choice^SM Program is for you.  Through the Choice Program, Columbia Gas of Kentucky customers can decide who supplies the natural gas for their home or business. 

Your monthly bill consists of two primary components -- charges for delivery and charges for the gas supply. The delivery charge covers the costs to physically deliver the natural gas to your home or business each month and provide services like 24-hour emergency service.

The gas supply charge is the cost of the natural gas itself. Columbia Gas of Kentucky buys this gas on your behalf and sells it to you at the same price. We do not mark-up the price of gas or make a profit on it.

Natural gas marketers can often offer flexible pricing options and lower natural gas supply costs.

But that doesn't mean Columbia Gas is losing your business. We'll still deliver your gas to your home or business and provide other services such as 24-hour emergency service and billing.

If you choose to participate in the Customer Choice Program, you’ll also receive:

·     A reliable supply of natural gas – If, for any reason, your marketer fails to secure enough natural gas supplies for all of its contracted customers, Columbia Gas of Kentucky will step in and supply your natural gas without any interruption in service to you.

·     One bill – You’ll continue to receive just one bill from Columbia Gas. Your monthly bill will indicate the marketer you’ve chosen to supply your natural gas.

Taking part in the Customer Choice Program is completely voluntary and costs you nothing.  However, read your marketer’s contract carefully to determine what you are agreeing to.  Once a contract is signed, the terms must be fulfilled before you are allowed to switch to another marketer or back to Columbia Gas.
